City administrator Nick Royal told the committee on Sept. 15 that the current three‑year contract for misdemeanor prosecution services (Severson Porter) is expiring and that the three cities participating in the joint powers agreement — Brainerd, Baxter and Niswah — want to continue the service. Royal said two firms responded to the last RFP and that the present contract runs through Dec. 31, 2025.
