City Administrator Broyals and staff opened a discussion about how council packets are distributed. Packets have grown in size and currently are compressed PDFs emailed by staff; the city had planned to transition to CivicPlus but the current process was a short-term workaround.
Council members expressed mixed comfort levels with CivicPlus. Several members said they do not currently use the platform; others suggested a short tutorial and a trial period. Administrator Broyals said staff will coordinate with IT to send a short tutorial and run a transition trial over a few meetings while keeping existing distribution methods for members who prefer them.
The council did not adopt a formal ordinance or policy change but reached consensus to proceed with staff-led training, a trial run of CivicPlus access for the current packet, and concurrent distribution while members become familiar with the platform.
