VINTON, Iowa — The Vinton City Council on Oct. 10 adopted a package of ordinances and approved several infrastructure and administrative actions, moving a range of city business forward.
On unanimous roll calls the council approved third-reading adoptions of Ordinances 1101 through 1107, covering pedestrian right-of-way provisions, adult-establishment nuisance rules, electronic meeting provisions, operating budget preparation, publication of minutes, bond requirements, and fire-official authority to cite site violations. Council then advanced Ordinance 1108 (stop signs), taken for second consideration with discussion about who will pay for five field signs.
The council accepted the West First Street reconstruction project completed by RI Construction after discussing pavement thickness and the road’s expected durability.
