Wright County adopts FY2026–27 budget, cites large capital projects increase

The Wright County Board opened and closed a public hearing on the proposed FY2026–27 budget and, with no public comment, adopted Resolution 2026-14 by roll call. County staff explained the apparent 253.99% increase in capital projects in the budget notice, attributing the jump to a large secondary-roads capital project that will be paid locally and may be reimbursed later; staff cited a change from roughly $187,000 to $2,343,700 for capital projects in the comparison used in the notice.
