PUC: New law broadens "immobilization" rules; booting changes take effect June 14

The Colorado PUC told stakeholders that new statutes expanding the definition of vehicle 'immobilization' took effect June 3 and that updated booting/immobilization rules will take effect June 14; staff said a follow-up rulemaking will be needed to align PUC rules with the new law.

Nate Riley, section chief for transportation at the Colorado Public Utilities Commission, told stakeholders on June 13 that House Bill 25117 broadened the statutory definition of vehicle immobilization and took effect June 3 after the governor signed it with a safety clause.
