WSBA section elections: application, slate and voting deadlines for 2026

Key deadlines: most section application portals close April 20; the candidate slate form is due May 11; voting is scheduled to begin June 1 (with some sections on different schedules); and election results will be provided to nominating and executive committees on June 6. Results will be posted on section election pages by the third week of July.
Betskkey recommended practical recruitment approaches for nominating committees and section leaders: use section listservs and rosters, reach out through professional and personal networks, post on social media where applicable, and personally contact likely applicants. He said section rosters may be requested from WSBA (allow about one week for delivery) and encouraged leaders to contact newly elected nominees promptly after results are released.
Betskkey offered to provide the outreach email and additional resources directly to sections that did not receive the initial guidance, and he reiterated that section leaders should apply via My WSBA if they wish to serve another term.
The sections team will continue to provide support during the nomination and voting window.
