At the end of the Oct. 15 meeting, commissioners and staff provided community updates. Staff said a community composting facility may open by Nov. 1 with an initial Saturday leaf-drop program; the Arbaney Park playground is close to completion with curbs and surfacing expected in the next two weeks; and a municipal "solar reads" dashboard is being finished to show rooftop array generation for town facilities and schools.
Commissioners also discussed progress on the Midland streetscape (on track for December completion) and plans for seasonal tree-lighting events. On housing policy, staff said the town will issue an RFP for a consultant to help rewrite the land-use code sections related to affordable housing mitigation and standards, which commissioners identified as the appropriate forum to resolve concerns raised during the hearing.
The commission adjourned at 6:44 p.m.
