The Pinellas Park City Council unanimously approved a package of annexations and future land‑use amendments at its Aug. 8 meeting, adopting ordinances 4263 through 4268 on second and final reading.
Senior Planner Tiffany Manard presented each case individually: P1 (Ordinance 4263) annexes the parcel at 6975 124th Terrace North and recommends designating the property Residential Low (RL); P2 (4264) is the companion future land‑use amendment. Manard said the parcel is contiguous to the city, located in FEMA Zone X (low flood risk), and that Planning & Zoning recommended approval. Similar presentations and findings were provided for P3/P4 (4265/4266), P5/P6 (4267/4268) and related cases; staff recommended approval for each and Planning & Zoning had recommended the land‑use amendments with the condition that the associated annexations be approved by council.
Council asked clarifying questions in one case about whether a parcel currently designated for mobile/manufactured home use could later accommodate a site‑built single‑family residence; staff said such a conversion would be possible subject to zoning and development review. No members of the public opposed the annexations during the hearings.
Each ordinance was put to a motion and passed unanimously on final reading. The council also moved several consent items, including adoption of utility rates and connection charges in Ordinance 4270, acceptance of a sidewalk and drainage easement, purchase authorizations funded by forfeiture dollars and a grant agreement with FDOT for pedestrian and bicycle safety enforcement.
The package of annexations will amend the city's official land‑use map and zoning designations for the listed parcels; staff noted that any future development will be subject to applicable zoning rules and the city's comprehensive plan.
