Council advances new building/fire codes and ratifies comprehensive‑plan status
On first reading the council approved adoption of 2024 model building and fire codes and the City’s wildfire resiliency code; the council also ratified the Planning Commission’s resolution adopting the 2014 Arvada Comprehensive Plan as the city’s three‑mile plan.

The council voted 5–0 on first reading to repeal and reenact Arvada code chapters adopting the 2024 International Building Code, 2024 International Residential Code, Colorado Low Energy and Carbon Code (based on the 2024 International Energy Conservation Code), the 2024 International Fire Code, and related technical codes. Council set the public hearing for full consideration on March 24, 2026.
