Council advances new building/fire codes and ratifies comprehensive‑plan status
Summary

Separately, the council ratified Planning Commission resolution CP 2025‑005, confirming the Arvada Comprehensive Plan as Arvada’s three‑mile plan under CRS 31‑12‑105; that ratification also passed 5–0. Staff noted the building‑code updates align local regulations with current model codes and are intended to modernize safety, energy and wildfire resiliency standards.
The action moves the code adoptions forward toward final hearing and noted changes; the council’s revisions to Chapter 66 (parks) occurred later in the meeting.
