Scott Wadel, Sedgwick County planning director, asked the Board of County Commissioners at a March 10 workshop to consider initiating a corridor preservation overlay (CPO) for the ARK 95 corridor in the county's south‑southeast area. Wadel said the overlay is an existing zoning tool that places an overlay district on top of base zoning to ensure improvements of a certain scale do not conflict with planned public infrastructure.
