The board also approved amendment No. 1 to the inmate food services contract with Summit Food Service LLC (effective June 1, 2026, through May 31, 2027) and awarded bids for rooftop HVAC replacement at the Maxim Butler facility and for multi-function copiers to Xerox's business solution. A separate bid award went to Paragrin Services Inc. for printing and mailing renewal notices.
The commission approved personnel items including an irregular two-step pay increase for Deputy Administrator Kathy Lambeath (from paygrade A10 step one to A10 step three), a new administrative pay plan, and a new public-safety administrative pay plan. Several miscellaneous appropriations were approved: $3,000 from Commissioner Harris to the Boys and Girls Club summer program, a $2,500 appropriation (corrected on the record) to the JAG principal's discretionary fund, and four $3,000 appropriations (totaling $12,000) from Commissioners Moore Ziggler, Castanza, Sanki and Singleton to the Boys and Girls Club from designated revenue.
Roll-call votes were used where required. On the ARPA Montgomery Thrive amendment, Commissioners Harris and Sanki recorded abstentions while Commissioners Moore Ziggler, Castanza and Singleton voted yes; the chair declared the motion carried (three yes, two abstentions). Similar roll-call tallies were recorded for certain pay-plan measures; other routine items were carried by voice vote with no further roll call recorded on the transcript.
Deputy Administrator remarks and several commissioners' comments recognized staff and community partners. The board also approved an interlocal cost-sharing agreement for the Montgomery City-County Emergency Management Agency and passed a resolution authorizing emergency relocation of polling places in Commission District 4.
