At the March 11 Warm Springs CAB meeting, county fire staff outlined the 'fire‑adapted communities' framework, urged homeowners to harden the first five feet around structures, and asked the public to engage in a Wildfire Protection Plan update now underway.

Battalion Chief Meadows, representing local fire leadership, told the Warm Springs World Citizens Advisory Board that county efforts to reduce wildfire risk rest on three goals: "a safe effective fire response, resilient landscapes and fire adaptive communities." The presentation stressed that residents and local agencies must act together to reduce the pace and impact of fast, wind‑driven fires.
