Chris Faulk, identified at the meeting as site superintendent for the Page County Law Enforcement Center project, told the board the work is moving forward and several major systems are near completion.
Faulk said crews have the driveway formed and will pour concrete in stages over the coming weeks, weather permitting, and that the state recently installed the gas line to the building. "We actually have natural gas that'll go through the meter net," Faulk said, describing pressure testing and the final meter hookup. He said plumbing is "pretty much done" and that detention frames and welding details in the jail are nearing completion.
Faulk described ongoing HVAC and electrical work, including rooftop units and VAV installations; he said the county will delay some finished flooring in non-detention areas until site traffic decreases to avoid damage. He also said grouting, ceiling grid installation in detention, and painting are in progress.
On costs, Faulk said the county paid a little over $44,000 in February for the gas line and expects a bill adjustment that will leave a balance of roughly $9,000 to $10,000 owed. "So yeah, nice. We'll take that," he said.
Board members asked a few clarifying questions about door hinges and closures and about when the driveway access would be limited during pours; Faulk said he would provide dates as they are firmed up.
