The Lavaca County auditor told the Commissioners Court that since a March update to the county's Tyler Technologies time‑and‑attendance module, the county has seen extended downtime, deleted or improperly recorded time and unresolved payroll problems.
She requested permission to solicit or pursue a different timekeeping system. Auditor staff had evaluated multiple vendors and recommended further review. Cole Solomon, representing a nationwide payroll/HR/timekeeping vendor (transcript spelling varies between "Pelosity," "Palosity" and "Paylosity"), described an integrated platform his company uses for municipal and county customers and said an implementation of roughly 12 weeks could allow an October rollout.
Commissioners asked about costs, contract commitments and rollout timelines. Given the potential payroll impact and need for department‑head buy‑in, the court voted to table the item and refer it to the court advisory committee for demonstration, pricing and vendor vetting before any procurement decision.
The court did not award a contract or authorize purchases at the meeting; staff were asked to present detailed pricing and allow the advisory committee to review implementation plans.
