Deschutes County advances housekeeping code changes; board discusses RV rules, residential facility updates and telecom standards

At a public hearing April 8, 2026 the Deschutes County Board approved first readings of two housekeeping ordinances to clarify codification and to align zoning with state and federal changes, including updates that recognize temporary RV dwellings up to five years, align residential homes and facilities with state statute, and codify co-location timing for telecommunications. Commissioners asked staff for public education on RV rules and a possible work session on manufactured-home park infrastructure.
