Ware County staff recommended awarding the 2025 safety action plan contract for about 63 miles of striping and signage to NPR South LLC after a scope change that removed some roads and added others, bringing the revised price to $409,900.93, county officials said at a May work session.
Staff said three bids were received and the lowest responsive bidder was NPR South LLC. Because of adjustments — specifically removing Beach Road and Lusimore and adding Zion Hill and Griffin Road segments — the project total dropped to $409,900.93, approximately $689.93 over the originally allocated budget. Officials said the project is primarily funded by a $372,000 grant that requires a 10% county match (about $37,000).
"Basically, we're getting all the striping done at a cost of about $37,000 from the county's corpus," a commissioner said during the meeting.
Staff recommended approval of the bid and the accompanying change order to reconcile the revised scope; commissioners moved the item forward for formal action. Staff also noted the change was driven by a prior programming decision to remove some resurfacing roads and add others to the striping package.
Next steps: staff will prepare the change order and return the item for formal commission approval.
