The Perkins Parks & Recreation board previewed a short, mobile-friendly survey intended to gather resident feedback on which programs and facilities are used and what the community would like to see in the future.
Board member Chris introduced the form and demonstrated how it looks on a phone, saying, "Hi, my name's Chris. Like I build a survey. I'm on the board," and asked members to help promote it. The survey asks whether anyone in the household participated in Perkins parks and rec programs in the past 12 months; if yes, respondents select which sports or events applied. It includes a standard likelihood-to-recommend question and two short open-text prompts: what facilities or sports respondents would most like to see and how they prefer to receive information about parks and recreation events.
Chris said the plan is to leave the survey open for roughly a month, post it on the parks account and cross-post via board members' pages, then share summary results publicly so respondents can see how input is used. The board discussed adding a survey question about preferred months or times of year for events (to inform scheduling for items such as a Mother’s event and a trivia night) and agreed to push the survey broadly on Facebook and other local channels.
Members clarified that the Google form as prepared will not collect respondents’ emails by default but could be rerun multiple times or cleared and reused for periodic feedback. Staff and board members agreed to coordinate rollout and to report survey results back to the board after the collection period ends.
