County reports higher work‑order volume; fleet shop notes steady monthly output

Public Works Director Rusty Hogan told the committee that staff logged 1,870 work orders from July through December 2025, up from 1,746 in the prior year-to-date. Hogan also reported two recent hires filled vacancies in the Public Works department and that county chert sales were slightly down while county use rose, largely for the fairgrounds. Driveway permit activity remained comparable to the prior year-to-date.
On Fleet Management, Hogan relayed an update from Fleet Manager Bruce Taylor saying the shop completes an average of about 80 work orders each month and that Taylor is continuing upgrades to the inventory system.
No formal decisions were taken; the numbers were presented for committee oversight and budgeting considerations.
