Adair County approves culvert and bridge actions, hears engineer project updates

The Adair County Board of Supervisors on April 8 approved a series of infrastructure actions and received an update from County Engineer Nick Kauffman on ongoing road and bridge work.
The board approved the W26 Prussia LOST box culvert project for the FY26 letting (motion by Baier, second by Hoadley). It also approved and signed the final voucher for the N7 Eureka Bridge Replacement Project (L-LBRN7E—6-73-01) and re-signed a right-of-way contract for the W26 Prussia RCB Culvert Project (LFM-LRCBW26P—7X01), with John Weinheimer acting as power of attorney on the right-of-way instrument. All motions were approved unanimously.
Engineer Kauffman provided a maintenance and activities report, noting the county and state both have structurally deficient bridges identified in inventories, and flagged a number of active projects: paving at the Orient Energy Center may be delayed until drying conditions improve; the Govig project was expected to have a deck pour the morning of April 8; and future projects include work on routes N27, W18 and N11. Kauffman also noted recent snow-plowing and a decision to sell a bridge plan via the Massena consignment rather than listing it on Purple Wave.
The approvals clear the way for FY26 letting and final payments where applicable; the engineer will proceed with project scheduling and notifications to affected property owners as appropriate.
