FSUS board hears vision‑plan progress; eight research projects accepted and research showcase planned

At its Feb. 10 meeting, the FSUS Charter Board received an update from Executive Director Dr. Christopher Small on progress implementing the board's vision plan and on research activity involving the school.
Dr. Christopher Small told the board that governing documents have been revised to align with statutes and regulations, and that a school climate survey will be distributed to collect feedback on curriculum items. He said parent feedback about the school's start time has been collected and that principals and deans will host a monthly family involvement series. Dr. Small also noted the launch of an All‑Pro Dads chapter and increased frequency of PTSA social‑media spotlights.
On facilities and operations, Dr. Small said deferred‑maintenance work on HVAC, roof replacement, parking‑lot lights and concession‑stand renovations is going out for bid. Regarding research, Dr. Small reported that eight research projects have been accepted by FSU; Megan Brink and Dr. Megan Crombie are scheduled to present at the College Board conference, and FSUS plans a research showcase on May 27, 2026.
