Senior Programs Director Andrea Pomerantz asked the Lapeer County Personnel Committee on April 2 to amend her department’s Table of Organization to add two regular part‑time Home Chores Worker positions (Pay Grade 14) to replace a current full‑time Home Chores Worker position.
Pomerantz said the part‑time option would allow the program to provide up to 56 hours of service per week instead of the current 40 and would make it easier to staff some jobs that require two people. She stated that the cost difference of the proposal was approximately $1,800.
Commissioner Greg Wise moved to recommend to the Full Board that the Senior Programs Department add two Regular Part‑Time Senior Program Worker – Home Chores positions (#TBD, PG 14) and that the existing Full‑Time Senior Program Worker – Home Chores position (#359, PG 14) be left vacant and unbudgeted if the department has difficulty recruiting the part‑time hires. Commissioner Kevin Knisely supported the motion; it carried unanimously.
The committee’s recommendation will be placed on the Full Board agenda for final approval. The minutes show the committee carried the recommendation without dissent.
