Glynn County opens bids for multiple infrastructure projects, receiving 24 proposals

Glynn County procurement staff opened sealed bids for four infrastructure solicitations and announced a total of 24 proposals during a publicly streamed bid-opening session.
Nikki Thompson, procurement analyst for the Glynn County Board of Commissioners, conducted the opening and read the list of firms that submitted proposals. "Openings are publicly held events that are open to the public and streamed live on the county YouTube channel," Thompson said, and she encouraged in-person attendees to sign the attendance sheet.
The largest solicitation was RFQ 26-026 (FY27 Glynn County annual general engineering services pool, multi-year contract IF26-033), for which Thompson announced 15 bids. Firms listed included Rich Farmer and Associates Inc.; Coleman Company Inc.; EMC Engineering Services Inc.; EOM Operations; GHD; regional firms based in Brunswick and Savannah; Infrastructure Consulting and Engineering LLC (Tampa); Michael Baker International (Peachtree Corners); and several others read aloud by county staff.
Thompson then announced the BATS US 1782 corridor study (RFP 26-032), for which two proposals were recorded: Atlas Technical Consultants LLC and Moffett and Nicholls.
On IFB26-033, the historic courthouse elevator modernization, Thompson read two sealed bids and the amounts: Oracle Elevator Old Code Incorporated (Savannah) with a bid read as $123,412 and Burgle W Systems (transcribed location: Pim Pinrook, Georgia) with a bid read as $88,200. Thompson earlier noted that for certain RFPs the county would not read pricing aloud.
For RFP 26-034 (Glynn-Brunswick SS4A safety action plan) the county recorded five bids, including firms identified in the opening as Bridge Farmer and Associates Inc., Foright Group LLC, Grist Smith, Meridian Mobility Solutions LLC (Sheridan, Wyoming) and Honda and Company (Savannah).
Thompson reminded attendees that the board of commissioners retains discretion to waive technicalities and that the lowest responsive bid may not be the county's recommended award. She said county staff will review paperwork for accuracy and completion and that a bid tabulation sheet would be posted on the county website once available. The recommended awards will be forwarded to the finance committee and then to the full board of commissioners for final action.
The county provided a contact for follow-up questions (Nikki Thompson via the county procurement email) and said the bid tabulation will be posted online when ready. The public record of the opening will contain the official bidder names and amounts.
