County reports localized flooding and recurring Ringer Loop closure; no emergency declarations

Joshua Fredrickson briefed the board on recent flooding impacts in Kittitas County, saying the event was less severe than the December event but that water was observed across roads in multiple locations including near Naneum, Bar 14, Bender Road near the Black Horse area, the Easton Area and the Elk Meadows community.
Fredrickson said Public Works staff monitored conditions and compared observations to modeled expectations. He noted that Ringer Loop Road continues to experience recurring flooding impacts, that the gate at Ringer Loop had been closed due to roadway flooding and impacts to nearby county‑owned property, and that the gate remained closed at the time of the meeting. He also said staff had received an inquiry related to SBA disaster recovery but there was no board action taken at the session.
