District highlights returning staff, student events and summer programs

Administrators and board members used the meeting to update the public on upcoming student events and personnel planned for next year.
Administrator Mr. Bollard reminded the board that senior awards are scheduled for 07:00 tomorrow and that graduation practice is set; “Tomorrow's graduation practice, through the high acre through the elementary school … for that,” he said, noting arrangements for diplomas and cap-and-gown logistics. He also said summer school will run through the 18th and urged staff to check final credit counts for students.
Board member John Waller described recent student events — a wax museum and science fair that drew large crowds downtown — and announced two staffing plans: Mitch Mullins will serve as an intervention paraprofessional focusing on math and Beth McDonald, who recently retired, will return in the same capacity. Waller said the district expects the additional intervention support to improve student outcomes.
Miss June, who spoke about the district’s daycare and summer programming, said testing for the year was complete and staff are preparing to begin summer programming, including coordinating summer breakfast and lunch menus with Rachel for the daycare program.
What comes next: staff will finalize schedules and assignment paperwork for the returning paraprofessionals and continue preparations for graduation and promotion events.
