Council Member Jerry Spencer moved to adopt the ordinance and Council Member Rachel Goates seconded the motion; Ray Evans also voted in favor and the motion passed unanimously. The town’s staff and R6 representative Shay Morrison said the ordinance is essentially unchanged from the town’s previous adoption except for updating the code year to 2024; the WUI map likewise remains unchanged.
Morrison noted the change is required by new legislation and described the ordinance as a technical update rather than a substantive regulatory change. The council scheduled formal adoption during the evening’s regular agenda and attached the ordinance to the meeting record.
The ordinance adoption will align the town with the updated code year; no immediate regulatory changes to mapped WUI areas were announced at the meeting.
