Board ratifies multiple resignations and approves backfills across county offices

The Pine County Board moved to ratify several personnel actions reported by its personnel committee and approved related backfill authority.
The committee ratified the resignation of property appraiser Sean O’Reilly, effective May 7, 2026, and approved backfill of that position and of any subsequent vacancies arising from internal promotions. The board also acknowledged resignations in the sheriff’s office (corrections officers Joseph Urge and Devin Nylin, effective May 14) and agreed to consider backfill at a later date. Public Works requested and received approval to regrade a building superintendent/supervisor position from grade 11 to grade 12 with no immediate pay change and an updated job description.
Health and Human Services ratified the resignation of an intake social worker and a children's mental health worker with effective dates and backfill plans noted in committee minutes. A motion to approve the personnel committee’s recommendations was moved and seconded and passed by voice vote.
Commissioners also noted a separate personnel matter — an employee bringing animals to the courthouse — which will be referred to the personnel committee for policy consideration at a future meeting.
