County counselor: draft MOU sent to Kickapoo Tribe; bridge easement work progressing

County Counselor Austin Parker told the Brown County Board of Commissioners on Jan. 5 that a draft memorandum of understanding for dispatch services with the Kickapoo Tribe has been sent to Sheriff Merchant for review. Parker said the MOU is in draft form and staff are awaiting further action by the sheriff before the county takes the next step.
Parker also reported that county staff are working to finalize a construction easement for Bridge FAS-51; he said pictures and measurements of a trial bridge will be taken as part of that work. He described the easement as part of preparatory steps needed before construction activity can proceed.
Parker said he is waiting to hear back from Amberwell on an unspecified matter mentioned during his update. He did not provide further details about the subject or any deadlines.
Parker told the commission he will prepare a resolution next week to change Planning Commission term expiration dates; he said the resolution will be available for review at the next regular meeting.
No formal votes were recorded on the MOU, the bridge easement or the planning-commission resolution during the Jan. 5 meeting.
