Lee County commissioners on May 19 approved new solid‑waste system assessment rates for fiscal years 2027 through 2030 that include an 8% increase in fiscal 2027 (to bring the system to full cost recovery) and establish a maximum annual increase capped at 5% for 2028–2030. The rates were presented by Rebecca Rodriguez (speaker 14) of Solid Waste.
