The Paulding County Board of Tax Assessors approved the 2026 Final Digest Consolidation Report and set final valuations during its May 13, 2026 meeting at the Watson Government Complex.
Chief Appraiser James Stokes, Jr. presented the pre-digest consolidation report and the board voted unanimously to adopt the report and set the final 2026 valuations as presented. Member Gary Griswell moved to approve the consolidation report and Chairman Johnny McBurrows seconded.
The board also approved the 2026 Overall Average Level of Assessment and the Equalized Sales Ratio. The minutes record residential assessed value at $9,343,442,236 with an assessed ratio of 0.3940 and a total assessed value reported as $10,676,820,912 (overall ratio 0.3931), figures the appraisal staff used to project fair market values for the digest.
Members voted to approve the Real Property and Personal Property Assessment Notice listings and to distribute the 2026 Digest GIS data files and PDF maps; the record notes the full data sets are large and available digitally upon request. The board authorized mailing of covenant and FLPA approval letters once the specific mailing date is determined.
The board approved all motions on these items unanimously (McBurrows, Amerson, Spinks, Rollins and Griswell). The public notice for the Annual Notice of Assessment was approved to run in the Dallas New Era and be posted on the Paulding County website and QPublic, but the minutes say the publication date and any appeal deadlines are "to be determined" because of programming changes related to the statewide floating homestead exemption.
The board adjourned at the close of the session; the minutes record Board Secretary Deanna Morrison as the meeting secretary.
