Select Board accepts multiple resignations and dissolves project committees
Summary
The Select Board accepted resignations from town volunteers and staff, including highway and fire personnel, and voted to dissolve the Fire/Highway Building Project Committee and the Downtown Development Committee as projects conclude.
At its May 19 meeting the North Brookfield Select Board accepted a string of resignations and approved the dissolution of two advisory committees.
Resignations read into the record included William (Bill) Oul of the highway department (effective May 22), Ann Adams from the North Brookfield Fire Department (effective May 15), and several members of the fire/highway building committee and other committees, including Brian Hayes, Peter Osie, Joe Trenticosta and Thomas Bat. One select board member also resigned from the sewer commission citing insufficient technical background and the board indicated it would seek a more technically qualified replacement.
With the building project nearing completion, the board dissolved the Fire/Highway Building Project Committee and said the Select Board would assume oversight to pay remaining bills and close out accounting. Separately, the North Brookfield Downtown Development Committee (letter from Sheila J. Osie) notified the board that it had concluded work and requested that future downtown matters be handled by the Select Board; the board approved dissolving that committee as well.
The board offered thanks to departing volunteers and staff and recorded motions to accept the resignations and to dissolve the two committees.
