Commissioner Houle summarized Central Minnesota Council on Aging activity and noted that, through a contract with Catholic Charities, the program delivered about 20,000 home-delivered meals last year. The Solid Waste Commission reported it had let a bid to screen a large mixed-material excavation pile to recover usable sand, rock and fill and expressed confidence in the new landfill director.

Soil and Water updates covered stewardship plans, a spring tree sale of about 30,000 trees (moving to native species next year), and progress toward multi-year goals (for example, 10% of a 340-pound phosphorus removal goal and 95% of a well-sealing goal). Lakes and Pines reported securing a new two-year grant and a successful fundraising gala that netted approximately $28,500.
