Staff seeks reclassification for public works employee; board schedules executive session

At the May 20 meeting, Mr. Matt Hawkins presented a request to reclassify James Vincent in the public works department from Bridge Carpenter I to Bridge Carpenter II, effective June 1. Hawkins said Vincent has met the requirements for the higher classification and “has recently acquired his crane operator's license,” noting the departmental budget can absorb the change. Hawkins estimated the fiscal impact for a 12‑month period at approximately $5,500, including PERS contributions.
