The Waterloo City Council on May 18 adopted a required FY2026 budget amendment, instituted proceedings for up to $6 million in general obligation bonds, approved downtown and neighborhood development agreements and grants, advanced hotel–motel grant recommendations, and adopted a sewer-rate increase; the council tabled a proposed acquisition of three parcels pending legal review.
