House approves Rebuild Iowa Infrastructure Fund budget, member objects over omitted projects

Representative Bossman (Woodbury) presented the Rebuild Iowa Infrastructure Fund budget (Senate File 2484), describing it as a gaming‑revenue funded capital package that continues many prior line items and includes new investments. On the floor he cited $22,000,000 for major maintenance, an increase in standing capital maintenance (stated in the record as 750,000), $1,000,000 for Terrace Hill projects, and more than $80,000,000 for water quality including $18,000,000 in new money. He also listed $10,000,000 for community attraction and tourism grants and $10,000,000 for Destination Iowa grants, $4,000,000 for On With Life, $3,700,000 for the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy shooting range, and a $5,000,000 per-year allocation over five years for the railroad overpass and underpass fund.
