He described operations that set up tents at locations with "a high level of substance abuse activity" and said outreach teams offer information and treatment referrals so people seeking drugs might instead accept help. He also described an initiative in parts of eastern and western Union County in which outreach teams go to areas "following a takedown of numerous drug offenders" to offer services to those who might otherwise seek drugs after arrests.
Daniels said the program has served "well over hundreds of participants" and provides outreach, outpatient and inpatient referral options. He offered to answer commissioners' questions about the program and said he would be available to discuss details.
No formal action was taken during the agenda‑setting portion of the meeting; the prosecutor introduced four resolutions from his office to be considered on the regular meeting's consent agenda.
