Board adopts Ripley County All Hazard Mitigation Plan

The Batesville Board of Works voted to adopt the Ripley County All Hazard Mitigation Plan under Resolution number "one-twenty 25."

Chair introduced the item and invited the city’s fire chief to explain the update. The fire chief said the county updated the multi-hazard mitigation plan to refresh contacts and account for business changes since the plan’s earlier adoption. He summarized that the plan addresses hazards and disasters and noted, “I believe back in 2019” when the previous adoption occurred. He also stated the county commissioners approved the updated plan last month and the city was being asked to readopt it to maintain mutual-aid continuity.

Clerk moved to approve the resolution; the board approved it on a voice vote. No roll-call tallies or dissenting votes were recorded in the transcript. The board did not attach additional local amendments during the meeting.

The adopted plan is intended to coordinate long-term mitigation and mutual-aid arrangements between the city and Ripley County; staff or other departments were not assigned additional immediate tasks on the record at this meeting.
