Morris County utility officials report water-project progress, PFAS design work

The official reported PFAS-treatment design work at Flanders Valley (number 1 and number 2) is advancing and that NJDEP comments have been addressed for the designs. The update also referenced generator and electrical improvement work at Alimatang Wells numbers 4 and 5 and noted continuing work with New Jersey American Water on a new public-service project in Mount Olive.
Regarding solid-waste operations the official said transfer-station tonnage remains stable and is increasing with the spring season; the county awarded a collection and disposal contract to Waste Management of New Jersey and is undertaking scale-replacement projects.
The board did not vote on new capital allocations during the presentation. Several commissioners thanked staff for the progress report and asked that staff continue routine procurement and compliance checks; one commissioner later asked that a consent-agenda resolution be pulled over a separate contractor-registration concern (see separate article).
