County staff outlined the requested adjustments: an increase to the Sheriff’s budget of $281,369 to cover insurance, a generator and a communications tower (planned to be paid from Local Option Sales and Service Tax funds), Veterans Affairs $7,000 to permit spending donated funds, Conservation $10,500 in matching REAP funds, and Public Health $15,000 for new windows, among other line-item changes across county offices.
Supervisor Lance Lange moved to approve the amendment; Supervisor Todd Wilson seconded. The motion carried unanimously (all motions in the minutes are recorded as approved by all board members present). The resolution states the board previously approved the FY26 budget and a first amendment and published notice of this second amendment prior to the hearing, consistent with Iowa Code requirements.
