Select Board approves principal assessor contract after executive session
Summary
Following executive session on nonunion negotiations, the Select Board reconvened and voted to approve the principal assessor’s employment contract.
After meeting in executive session to conduct strategy sessions in preparation for negotiations with nonunion personnel under MGL c.30A §21(a), the Boxborough Select Board reconvened in open session and voted to approve the principal assessor’s contract.
The board moved and seconded the contract approval in open session; members voted by voice and recorded the approval as unanimous. Staff indicated the contract action followed the closed negotiation and that returning to open session was intended to avoid detrimental impact on the town’s negotiating position.
The motion was approved and staff welcomed the principal assessor back in her new contract status.
