Board to consider multiple consent items including transit contracts and a propane bus purchase

County staff laid out several consent and county-manager items the board would consider at the evening meeting.

Items previewed included a request from the Trinity Creek Homeowners Association to privatize subdivision roadways (the HOA indicated it would accept the roadways "as is" and assume maintenance), a developer request (Gilead Grove) to permit private streets in a proposed 37-lot AG subdivision on about 98.82 acres, and a surplus-equipment list for auction on April 25, 2026 (24 vehicles and 26 pieces of equipment and parts).

Senior Services items included a $2,500 sponsorship donation from Northside Hospital to support fall-prevention and strengthening classes and an Atlanta Regional Commission Amendment 1 to a contract that would increase department funding by $197,786.33 and require a local county match of $19,928.64 to be reflected in the Senior Services FY2026/FY2027 budget.

Transportation and transit items were also previewed: staff said Katz (the county transit provider) will transmit a Department of Human Services contract renewal application (packet lists a $410,000 award figure and a county-match figure in the packet), and a GDOT FTA 5311 rural assistance contract for FY27 totaling about $526,000 (50% federal operating funds and a 50% county match of $263,000) was included. Staff also requested approval to purchase a 2027 Ford E-450 propane bus for $150,951.26 using a mix of FTA grant funds and SPLOST local match.
