Comanche council approves 2025 REAP grant application, selects streets project and encumbers local leverage

The motion was moved by Vice Mayor Wanda Moore, seconded by Council Member Brayden Harris, and passed unanimously.
Separately, the council moved to appoint Wayne McCasland, Interim City Manager, and/or Mayor Dennis Dobbins as authorized signatories for the 2025 REAP grant. That appointment was moved by Council Member Brayden Harris and seconded by Vice Mayor Wanda Moore; the motion passed with three Yes votes and one abstention by Mayor Dennis Dobbins.
The council did not provide additional detail on the scope of the Streets Project in the minutes; the application steps were authorized so ASCOG can complete required documentation. Council members said the city would encumber the specified local match amounts to strengthen the application.
Next steps: ASCOG will prepare and submit the REAP grant application on the city's behalf, and the council authorized the city manager and/or mayor as signatories to execute grant documents.
