The Comanche City Council voted July 9 to apply for a 2025 REAP grant and directed the Association of South Central Oklahoma Governments (ASCOG) to complete the application. The council selected the Streets Project as the eligible project and agreed to encumber $5,000 cash from the Rural Fire Fund and $2,000 of in‑kind leverage toward the local match. The motion was moved by Vice Mayor Wanda Moore, seconded by Council Member Brayden Harris, and passed unanimously.
