The Peekskill Conservation Advisory Council on Jan. 8 adopted five priority initiatives for 2026, led by tree planting, which received 83% support in a survey of members. The council also prioritized a Climate Action Plan, composting/food scraps work, sustainable waste management and community-building events (each cited by 67% of respondents).
