Jay County approves amended Skycrest Solar EDA, extending construction timeline

Invenergy representative Ethan Sternberg told Jay County commissioners the amended Economic Development Agreement for the Skycrest Solar project shifts the construction start to Dec. 31, 2026 and the completion date to Dec. 31, 2028, and changes the EDA payment schedule so the first payment is due six months after construction begins. Sternberg said the developer has improved certainty over grid connectivity and can build a new substation without substantial upstream upgrades, which increased their confidence in the timeline.
