The Bridgeport Board of Education returned from executive session on May 25 and authorized a workers’ compensation settlement for a claim involving Arcolone.
The board met in executive session with district counsel to discuss the matter. Upon return, Assistant Mayor Jimenez moved to “authorize and approve the workers compensation settlement as discussed in executive session for Arcolone.” The motion was seconded by Mr. Medina and carried on a recorded voice vote; the public record does not disclose the settlement amount or terms, which were discussed in executive session.
The board’s action authorizes settlement execution consistent with the attorney’s recommendations presented in closed session. The district attorney and staff will proceed with necessary documentation.
