Ordinance 782 updates the township’s adopted fire‑prevention and life‑safety codes from the 2018 edition of the International Fire Code to the 2021 edition. Board discussion was brief; staff explained the township cannot adopt the 2024 edition until the state adopts it under the UCCC. The board voted in favor and the motion carried 5–0.
Later the board considered Ordinance 783, an amendment to Chapter 24 that increases the per‑device amusement fee for certain game devices from $170 to $340 annually. Staff said the fee had last been raised in 2002 and described the ordinance as correcting a long‑overdue update to the fee schedule. The discussion included examples of device types (convenience‑store machines and arcade claw machines). The board approved the fee increase unanimously, 5–0.
Neither ordinance drew extended public opposition during the meeting; both passed on motions with the chair and board voting aye.
