In his superintendent’s update, Dr. Cummings told the board the district has seen a substantial improvement on AP exams: "Over the last 10 years, our participation and passing of AP exams has increased by 64%," he said, adding that Narragansett will be honored the next day at the State House for progress in AP results. He also reported preliminary SAT math scores are the highest in district history and said RIDE has approved the district’s proposed Marine Professions program. Members praised teachers, administrators and students for the gains.
The committee confirmed graduation logistics (June 8, 6:30 p.m. at the Ryan Center) and adjourned the meeting at 7:45 p.m.
