“Given the time of year, we would bring our own firewood and contain everything within that,” Brown said when asked about cleanup. Committee members pressed for specifics about location and expressed the expectation that the troop would leave no trace.
The permit motion—moved by Warren and seconded by Chris—passed by unanimous roll call. The LSC recorded conditions: the fire must be located away from tree canopy, contained, and cleaned up; the troop must follow any additional town safety or permitting steps required by the fire department.
This decision addresses safety and stewardship concerns while allowing the troop to hold a daytime ceremonial event.
