Maintenance supervisor reports server-room AC failure and routine facility upkeep

Maintenance Supervisor Chris Street told the Iroquois County Management Services Committee that a three-year-old mini-split air conditioner in the 911 server room failed when its compressor locked up and that Dyken is warrantying and ordering replacement parts.

“Dyken is warrantying the parts, the parts are ordered and we’re now waiting for them to be shipped,” Chris Street said, adding that the location makes a prompt repair important. He also described a chiller sensor malfunction at the courthouse that returned implausible diagnostics and said a replacement sensor has been ordered from Dyken.

Street summarized additional routine maintenance: a small repair at animal control (replacing a torn dryer vent and wall), mass HVAC filter changes at the courthouse and the jail, mowing, and landscaping treatments to control thistle and bagworm on arborvitae. He said he plans coordination with contractor Freeh Hills for resealing the south parking lot and the courthouse horseshoe drive to avoid conflicts with court activities and grand jury schedules.

Street said he will coordinate access options for the morgue with Bill Cheetum rather than immediately buying a permanent ramp and estimated sealcoating closures typically require about two days before reuse.

The committee thanked Street and had no further questions at that time; staff will continue repairs and track replacement-part shipments.
