Committee recommends five volunteers for Proposition 1 for/against committees
The joint committee voted to recommend three volunteers for the Proposition 1 "for" committee (Michael Cassie, Nathaniel Laver, Lawrence Soderick) and two for the "against" committee (Steven Cook, Ben Lacking); staff said the full council will consider appointments next week and state law limits committees to three members.

City attorney's office staff asked the committee to review five letters of interest received for volunteer appointments to the Proposition 1 for/against committees for the Aug. 4 ballot. The office said they received three letters for the "for" committee and two for the "against" committee and that state law requires local jurisdictions to appoint committee members and limits a committee to three members.
